About Me

Inquisitive.  Complexity in the world around me is what excites me. Through my work, I strive to learn how the world works and why things are the way they are.

Methodical. I am an ex-engineer. Through my work, I channel tangible human needs through user-centered processes and apply sensible frameworks to address any problem.

Empathetic. I have a passion for understanding why people do what they do as well as how each person's experience varies based on their differences.

Where I'm Going

My ultimate goal is to find fulfillment in bettering the lives of people in a meaningful way, be that through improving the experience of education, healthcare, or civic tech.

Where I am

I’m a Senior Product Designer at Northern Trust working with a multidisciplinary team to redesign their wealth management platform.

Where I've Been

I grew up in the northeast suburbs of Atlanta before attending Georgia Tech for undergrad. My Bachelor's degree is in Chemical Engineering, which equipped me to think critically about problems in a practical and realistic way.

I had a brief stint doing Process Engineering for a paper mill, then moved on to a Research and Development intern role with a startup that was implementing new technology for chemical sensors in the poultry and food&beverage industries. Ultimately I decided that this career path would be unfulfilling to me in the long-term.

After establishing that engineering was a poor fit for me, I reexamined what I wanted to do with my time and effort by exploring what my passions are. Long standing interests in computers and psychology plus a previous artistic hobby led me to HCI, and researching the possibilities for graduate programs led me to DePaul.

I moved to Chicago in May of 2016 to start school at DePaul, and graduated with a M.S. in HCI in November of 2018.

I worked as a UX Designer at Fuzzy Math, first as an intern and contractor and then full time, from May of 2017 until January of 2021, executing UX research and design efforts for clients in a variety of industries. Fuzzy Math helped fortify my foundation as a designer and researcher in a professional and practical setting.
